Genesis is pursuing its growth plan by launching new models designed to compete directly with German premium car brands. The latest addition from Korean automaker Hyundai Group is Genesis GV80 Coupe Concept.
As the name suggests, this is a concept that anticipates the contents of the coupe version of the GV80 SUV. Although there is no exact indication, the production version should debut between late 2023 and early 2024.
The concept seems very close to the production version. Obviously, some less traditional solutions will be left out. For example, there will definitely not be a rear roll cage and seats with a carbon frame. However, it is these elements that emphasize the sportiness of this car.
In terms of design, the Genesis GV80 Coupe Concept shares many of the typical elements of all Korean brand cars, from pentagonal lattice. Compared to the GV80 SUV, the concept has thinner headlight design. In addition, always ahead we find new air intakes that also give the car a more aggressive look.

The interiors, as mentioned at the beginning, have been revised in the name of sportiness. However, we also find nappa leather upholstery and carbon fiber details. The automaker declined to say anything about the engine. It is possible that Genesis will decide to use SUV version engines, especially the top-end 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 with 375 hp.
The production GV80 coupe should appear at the same time as the GV80 facelift. It remains only to wait for news about the debut of this model.
