Gordon Murray Automotive’s latest masterpiece is T.33 Spider. This is a model that continues to offer all the most important features that characterize Murray’s cars and that easescrupulous attention to every detail and V12 Cosworth naturally aspirated.

Production of the T.33 Spider is due to begin in mid-2025, following the completion of the production phase for the coupé version, which will begin in autumn 2024. The Spider will be built in just 100 units at a starting price of around $1.89. million pounds (2.15 million euros).

CARE FOR DETAILS

Gordon Murray T.33 Spider measure Length 4398 mm, width 1850 mm, height 1135 mm, wheelbase 2735 mm. The automaker reports that its development was carried out in parallel with the coupe version we already know. Of his new supercar, Gordon Murray said:

When I draw a car, I imagine what it’s like to sit in it and what it’s like to drive. So, from the first draft, I knew that with its open cockpit and incredible Cosworth V12 engine right behind you, the T.33 Spider would deliver a truly immersive driving experience like no other. And despite being a mid-engined supercar, I don’t accept any compromises when it comes to usability: that’s why the T.33 Spider is unique in the supercar sector with its 295 liters of boot space.

The design is clearly reminiscent of the T.33, but for the Spider version, Gordon Murray modified the A-pillar, some parts of the rear and, apparently, introduced a removable roof.

I knew from the start that one of the biggest challenges in developing the T.33 Spider would be keeping the cleanliness, balance and overall beauty of the T.33. That’s why I sketched both versions at the same time to make sure the aspect ratio works.

The roof panels are made from carbon fiber and can be ordered in multiple colors. Once removed, they can be stored in the luggage compartment at the front. With attention to detail in design and abundant use of carbon fiber, the T.33 Spider dry weight 1108 kgi.e. only 18 kg more than the coupé version.

Like the coupe, the T.33 Spider can rely on wishbone suspension with extensive use of aluminum for the dampers. Power steering whilecarbon ceramic brake system it features 370mm x 34mm discs with six-piston monobloc calipers on the front axle and 340mm x 34mm discs with four-piston monobloc calipers at the rear.

Circles they are 19-inch front and 20-inch rear with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires in sizes 235/35 R19 and 295/30 R20 respectively. As is tradition, Gordon Murray worked diligently on aerodynamics. The T.33 Spider is able to generate a high level of load through the use of channels present in the front, which transmit air currents to the bottom. At the back we also find an active spoiler that rises automatically. Works on aerodynamics made it possible to obtain load 312 kg at maximum speed.

RED ZONE AT 11,100 RPM

The heart of the Gordon Murray T.33 Spider is the well-known naturally aspirated 3994cc V12 engine. cm, developed jointly with Cosworth, capable of providing 617 HP at 10,250 rpm. The maximum torque is 451 Nm at 6750 rpm. The red zone starts at a whopping 11,100 rpm. Murray notes that 90% of the torque is always available between 4500 and 10500 rpm. In general, the engine weighs 178 kg.

T.33 Spider is available exclusively with 6-speed manual transmission designed by Xtrac weighing 82 kg. In terms of performance, we know that the top speed of this supercar reaches 208 mph, or about 335 km/h.
