According to Suspіlne Novini, Zhytomyr soldiers developed two of their own UAV models with the help of command and donations – reconnaissance and attack. Volunteer and reserve soldier Yuri Biryuchenko, one of the project leaders, said that the developers have set themselves the task of making an analogue of Chinese reconnaissance aircraft adapted for combat operations, which will be more convenient to use and cost less than Chinese models.
“The Matrice 300 RTK is a fairly expensive Chinese civil unmanned aerial vehicle with good optics, used for reconnaissance and artillery fire adjustment. Yuri Biryuchenko said, “It will be adapted to the conduct of hostilities and will not have the shortcomings that any civilian DJI drones have for arranging artillery. analogue of the unmanned aerial vehicle,” he says.
According to the military, the development took five months, and the developers were greatly helped by the financial assistance of one of the charities, as well as the command of their military units.
According to another developer, Nikolai Gavrilyuk, the military simultaneously developed two modifications of the drone – reconnaissance and attack. The reconnaissance drone has good optics with 30x zoom and can transmit video up to 20 kilometers away. It also automatically returns to the host system in case of communication loss or low battery. Its weight is about 10 kilograms, and the flight time is up to two hours.
The attack aircraft is capable of carrying four ammunition of 1 kilogram each. It can hit targets up to 500 meters high with 1 meter precision. Its weight is about 15 kilograms, and the flight time is up to an hour. Both drones run on the same platform and are controlled by the same remote control. They also have a protection system against interference and signal interruption.
According to the developers, the drones have already been tested on the test site and show good results.
