5.5 years “banned in real life”: a woman justified aggression of the Russian Federation on Facebook and was punished

A resident of the Ivano-Frankivsk region wrote posts of similar content on social networks, but has now been “banned” by the court for the next 5.5 years.

The Kalush City Court of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast has ruled in the case of a Ukrainian citizen who shared posts on Facebook justifying Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, Dev.ua reported.

Specifically, he wrote: “The war did not start out of nowhere. Parents riding on the square and singing Bandera hymns are responsible for the deaths of children. Instead of demanding Poroshenko or Zelensky to stop the war in Donbass, ban anti-Russian hatred, stop making fun of super-armed nuclear weapons. Russia. With Russia. they wanted a war – they got it”. He also wrote this “The Ukrainians themselves are responsible for the turmoil that took place on their land”.

However, after the tragedy in Bucha, one of the residents of Kalush deleted his messages and began to harshly criticize the invaders.

At the trial, the woman pleaded not guilty and stated that she had expressed her personal critical opinion “as a writer” and did not justify the aggressor country. He now believes that it is the politicians, not the Ukrainians, who are to blame for everything, and he wants to justify himself.

However, the court ruled that the accused justified Russia’s armed attack on Ukraine with his Facebook posts and accused the Ukrainians of bringing the country into the war.

The court also considered that the accused was well aware that his posts on the social network could undermine trust in the Ukrainian military, destabilize and increase panic among the population, so he posted such messages more than once, and also justified and acknowledged the armed aggression of Russia. legitimately.

As a result, the accused was sentenced to 5.5 years in prison and will also have to pay 9,438 UAH to the budget for forensic linguistics examination and 4,530 UAH for computer technical inspection. The accused may appeal against the court’s decision within one month.
