New protagonist Maserati GranTurismo at Milan Design Week with 3 unique ones April 21, 2023 0

At Milan Design Week 2023 Maserati presented three disposable special. The automaker has already announced that it will bring several special models to the event. Finally, the house of the trident wanted to reveal all the details, revealing GranTurismo One Off Prisma and GranTurismo One Off Lucedesigned by the Maserati Style Center, and GranTurismo One Off Ouroboroscreated by Japanese designer Hiroshi Fujiwara.

The choice of Milan Design Week to present these special creations was no coincidence, as this event has always been the choice of brands from all over the world to announce one-of-a-kind products.

UNIQUE MODELS

Let’s start with the powered GranTurismo One Off Prisma V6 Neptune. For this unique model, a livery was chosen using 14 different hand-dyed colors. In addition, we find more than 8,500 letters, applied and drawn by hand one by one, that make up the names of Maserati cars.

Two colors look to the future, while the remaining twelve were chosen from the shades of the most famous GranTurismo models of the past, such as the characteristic amaranth for the 1947 Maserati A6 1.500 and the gold Longchamps that made the 1973 Maserati Khamsin shine.

GranTurismo One Off Luce, on the other hand, is based on the new 100% electric GranTurismo Folgore. The builder says that the installation “original high-gloss chromatic monolith, laser engraved with a dynamic pattern and almost colorless, which blends the contours of the car with the surroundings“.

Blue interiors were made with ECONYL upholstery, regenerated nylon yarn. The choice of blue is a reference to the sea, where the materials used to make the coatings come from. Claus Bussehead of design at Maserati, said:

GranTurismo Prisma is an ode to 75 years of history and know-how that has permeated every vehicle created by Maserati. GranTurismo Luce is our future, forward looking and perfectly matched with Prisma. The essence of each depends on the other. In terms of innovation, Prisma expresses all the beauty and excellence of Italian craftsmanship, skill in painting and color; Luce reveals all the technologies developed with Folgore, combining our visionary approach and Italian creativity.

VIRTUAL SINGLE DISCOUNT

The third special model is the GranTurismo One Off Ouroboros. virtual GranTurismo Fuoriserie drawn by Hiroshi Fujiwara as “a creative interpretation of the modern GranTurismo in an all-electric Folgore version“. This car was designed based on the symbol of ouroboros, which, according to what is said “expresses the unity of all things that never disappear, but constantly change form, in an eternal cycle of destruction and re-creation.“.

Fujiwara, to create this virtual car, started with lines of Italian sports cars of the past. For example, the front grille is a reference to the A6GCS Berlinetta Pininfarina, while the side air intakes are from the 3500 GT. Instead, the enclosed round headlights are those of 1960s racing cars like the Maserati Tipo 151.

As for the forged alloy wheels, the Japanese design was inspired by the magnesium rims introduced by Bora in the 1970s, and the linked taillight strip is a direct nod to Shamal’s innovative design of the 1980s and 1990s.

GranTurismo Ouroboros was conceived as a visual and cultural link between Maserati’s various design eras and the current generation of GranTurismos. We have worked with the Maserati team to combine today’s pinnacle of technology and performance with the style icons that have fueled and nurtured the legend for decades.
