Free Plan X moving forward and reaching a new milestone. Indeed now there are 70 service stations along the Autostrade per l’Italia (Aspi) network to have a fast charging infrastructure dedicated to electric vehicles. Due to the summer season, the company is accelerating the installation of charging points so that Italians and foreign tourists can travel in their car with a battery without having to leave the motorway to recharge.
As a reminder, the initial Free To X plan provides for equipping 100 filling stations with charging points (with a capacity of up to 300 kW) by the end of 2023. Over the past few days, the company has brought its infrastructure to operational refueling at gas stations. Sile Eston the A27, from Badia Al Pino Weston the highway A1 Rome-Florence, st. Free To X shows that the first 3 stations are equipped with 2 HPC 300 kW and Multistandard charging stations with CHAdeMO, Type2 connector and CCS2 fast combo. However, two 300 kW HPC columns were installed at the fourth station.
To top up from the Free To X column, you need use apps or cards from one of the mobile service providers among those with whom the company is close interoperability agreements and this Duferco EnergyEnel X Way, Evvey, next charge, neogi, Be Charge, Telepass and Bonnet. Free To X columns are also present on the international roaming platforms Hubject and Gireve, enabling interoperability with other Italian and foreign mobile service providers. OUR charging costs they differ depending on the carrier used for recharging and the data plan used (pay-per-use or subscription).
For EV owners, the development of the Free To X plan is certainly good news. Anyone who has traveled with a battery car for a long time knows that in the past they were forced to leave the motorways in search of a fast column from which to refuel. However, there is still a lot of work to be done to make up for the lack of charging infrastructure on the Italian motorway network.
In any case, Free To X is already working on installing additional charging points, which will be activated by the summer season.
