Munro introduced a pickup version of the Mk_1 electric SUV 19 May 2023 13

Scottish startup Munro Vehicles presented its second electric model. This is a variant of the Mk_1 off-road pickup truck introduced at the end of 2022, a vehicle designed primarily for use in some specific areas such as construction, agriculture and mining. In fact, a pickup truck can be used to carry heavy loads. The company claims that the body can carry a payload of up to 1050 kg. In addition, the more powerful Performance variant has pulling force up to 3500 kg.

ELECTRIC PICK-UP

The design of the pickup is similar to the SUV introduced late last year, except for the rear end. The new model has also been created to be able to handle any situation and be as functional as possible. The car can count on, for example, ground clearance 480 mm and the ability to overcome the ford up to 800 mm. The passenger compartment was designed to be spacious and essential, even if it was not lacking in technology.

There are three versions that will offer the electric pickup, just like the SUV: Utility, range and performance. The former is powered by a single 220 kW electric motor with 600 Nm of torque, powered by a 61.2 kWh (56.3 kWh usable) battery for a range of approximately 181–227 km. The battery can be charged with up to 70 kW DC or 6.6 kW AC.

The second is distinguished by the presence of a battery of 82.4 kWh (75.8 kWh is used) for a distance of 245 km to 306 km. Speaking of recharging, up to 94 kW of power can be delivered in direct current and up to 6.6 kW in alternating current.

Finally, the top Performance version can count on a 280 kW engine with 700 Nm of torque. The battery is still 82.4 kWh for a range of 245 km – 306 km (up to 22 kW can be charged on AC and 94 kW on DC). All models have “traditional” mechanical four-wheel drive.

The new Munro Mk_1 electric pickup is offered at a discounted price. starting price £49,995 (about 57,560 euros) excluding VAT. The manufacturer adds that between the SUV and this model, he has already received more than 200 orders, so that production ended for almost 2 years. The first 50 copies of the SUV/pickup will be built by the end of the year. The Scottish company is already working on a new plant with the goal of reaching a production level of 2,500 vehicles a year by 2027.
