On the night of May 24, drones attacked the Belgorod region with explosives. This was reported by the local governor Vyacheslav Gladkov and the Russian media.

As Vyacheslav Gladkov, the Governor of the Belgorod Region, wrote in Telegram, around midnight a drone dropped an explosive device on the road, which detonated and damaged a car. Not a single person was injured before, bomb experts and law enforcement came to deal with the situation. Then the air defense system shot down a drone over the Belgorod region, but it was not specified whether it was the same.

According to SHOT media, the explosion occurred in the city center – on the street of the Belgorod regiment, not far from the train station – a hundred meters from the gas station, according to Mash. Local residents reported that they heard a loud explosion, followed by a large column of smoke rising above the city. Referring to the townspeople, Baza reported that one of the “bombs” dropped by the drone did not explode.

Mash writes that at 4:00 am on May 24, an unidentified drone dropped two explosives on the Youth Initiatives Center in the village of Borisovka, Belgorod Region. The explosion damaged the facade of the building and three cars parked nearby, and also shattered the windows of the Pension Fund building and enforcement office.

On May 21, information appeared that the fighters of the “Russian Volunteer Corps” (RDK) raided the Belgorod region and advanced to a depth of 10 km from Russia. The Russians also reported clashes between the army and sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

On May 22, it was reported that Russian volunteers from the Russian Freedom Legion entered the territory of the Russian Federation. They declared their desire to create a demilitarized zone in the Belgorod region.
