Many military personnel now suffer from skin diseases acquired in the field and need treatment. Doctors decided to help them in this matter.
In Ukraine, the Derm Guard web application has appeared, where fighters, their relatives or military doctors can seek professional advice from a dermatologist. Information about this was published on the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Dermatovenerological Guards (DSU).
DSU is an association of dermatovenerologists that solves the issues of treatment and prevention of dermatovenerological diseases of Ukrainian military personnel in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and voluntary organizations.
Derm Guard Web Application: What We Know About
The developers say that the app will be useful for MTR soldiers, military doctors, as well as doctors who need additional advice on the treatment of the military. When a person is worried about the so-called “trench foot syndrome”, psoriasis, vitiligo, allergies and other skin diseases, you can turn to doctors for help.
How to get advice from a doctor?
- first you need to go to the site;
- after that, in the “Telemedicine” section, click on the “Consult a doctor” button;
- fill out an electronic form;
- Click the “Submit” button.
A response from the doctors should come in the next few days. The answer can come to the email specified in the form or any messenger installed on the person’s smartphone.
Requirements to fill out the electronic form
You will need to attach a photo of the affected area of the body to the proposed form. Since doctors need to view an injury or problem area on the body from all angles, there should be a few of them. It is also recommended that the military take pictures in good light as much as possible.
The next important item is the “Complaints” column. In it you need to describe your painful sensations and make it as detailed as possible. It is recommended to indicate whether there are types of painful sensations (burning, itching, tingling), swelling, how the disease began and developed.
How did the Ministry of Health evaluate the new initiative?
The relevant ministry noted that in the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war, many soldiers began to suffer from dermatovenerological diseases associated with being in the field. Therefore, it is more important than ever for them to receive timely and qualified assistance.
MTR soldiers and their families can get free medicine from DSU to treat their illness. Moreover, people in these categories can get treatment in health institutions working with Derm Guard by making an appointment. In this case, medicines, expert advice and procedures will also be provided to them free of charge.
Earlier it became known that a mobile application was created to monitor drones. A special smartphone application will help monitor the activities of enemy drones and report them to the command.
Recall that in January 2023, the media wrote that a fighter from the Armed Forces of Ukraine made an application that monitors the safety of his relatives. It is completely free and can be installed for free on Google Play and App Store platforms.
