The best gift of Independence Day: Ukraine received Bayraktar TB2 drone from Turkey

Baykar Makina donated one of the legendary drones that helped the Ukrainian army strike from high altitude in its fight against Russia.

Baykar Makina celebrated the Independence Day of Ukraine in a strange way. The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine reported that the Ukrainians received the famous Bayraktar TB2 attack aircraft as a gift from the manufacturer.

This is not the first gift from Turkish friends. Baykar Makina delivered two Bayraktar TB2 UAVs to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, especially on 25 January. Ukrainian intelligence officers expressed their sincere gratitude to their Turkish friends and partners who continue to help Ukraine in these difficult times.

GUR, “The best gift for the holiday is a new weapon that will help destroy the enemy and defend our freedom and independence.” said.

Bayraktar TB2 first flew in 2014 and entered the service of the Turkish Armed Forces in 2015. It has since been exported to many countries including Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Qatar.

It is a medium altitude long range (MALE) UAV. It can stay in the air for up to 24 hours at an altitude of 8.2 km. The control range is up to 150 km. Bayraktar TB2 is equipped with various weapon systems, including Roketsan MAM-L and MAM-C air-to-ground guided missiles and MAM-L glider bombs.

Bayraktar TB2 was widely used in combat operations in Syria, Libya and Nagorno-Karabakh. It showed high efficiency in the destruction of armored vehicles, artillery positions and enemy manpower. In Ukraine, Bayraktar TB2 was used to hit Russian troops from the very beginning of the invasion. This view is supported by Brigadier General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexei Gromov. He believes that Turkish drones are a reliable weapon in the hands of the Ukrainian army.
