Audi is completing development tests of the new generation of its A4. The new model, however, will change its name. In fact, as we already know, the German car manufacturer has decided to use even numbers for electric vehicles and odd numbers for endothermic models. So, the next Audi A4 is for real it will be called Audi A5.
Now a forklift has been intercepted on German roads from a neighboring new Audi A5 Avant. The interesting aspect is that spy photo show a car with a minimum level of camouflage. Therefore, thanks to the images, you can get a more accurate idea of the appearance of the new model.
The front end will have a smaller but still hexagonal grille, which will give the car a more elegant and sporty appearance. Audi has also updated the headlights with a new light signature. The profile is similar to the current model. However, as for the rear, despite the slight camouflage, it looks like the new light clusters will be connected to each other by a light strip.
As for the engines that we will find under the hood, there is not much information at the moment. We’ll probably have endothermic engines combined with mild hybrid and plug-in technology. PHEV models could have the same powertrains we’ve recently seen in the new Volkswagen Passat, for example.
The new Audi A5, in addition to the Avant version, should also be offered in a Sportback version. The debut is expected next year. Therefore, all that remains is to wait for news about the arrival of the new Audi A5 line.
