The design of the new SUV clearly resembles that of the new 3008, especially at the front, which is characterized by the presence of a new three-claw light badge and a frameless grille. The LED headlights are very thin and are located in a strip above the grille.
If we talk about the interior, then new Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit which debuted on the new Peugeot 3008, which combines a digital instrument panel and touchscreen infotainment system into one panel. We find it as standard in two trim levels with which the SUV will be offered on the market: Gait and GT. Standard equipment also includes ambient lighting, a wireless smartphone charger and keyless entry.
New Peugeot e-5008 will be offered with three different powertrains. The “entry-level” model will be able to count on one motor with a power of 157 kW/213 hp. and a torque of 345 Nm, powered by a 73 kWh battery for a range of 500 km in the WLTP cycle. Then there will be a “Long Range” version, again with a single engine, but with 170 kW / 231 hp. and a torque of 345 Nm. At the same time, the battery capacity increases to 98 kWh for a range of up to 660 km (WLTP).
Finally, the electric SUV will also be offered with two motors and all-wheel drive. In this case, 240 kW/326 hp will be available. The battery has a capacity of 73 kWh for a range of 500 km.
If we talk about charging, then on AC it will be possible to supply energy up to a maximum power of 11 kW (optional 22 kW). However, in DC, Peugeot talks about peak power of 160 kW (20 to 80% in 30 minutes).
The SUV will also be equipped with all the latest ADAS systems that the automaker has developed for its latest models. We find, for example: active safety braking, active lane keeping assist, driver warning, advanced traffic sign recognition, hill descent control and advanced traction control.
Peugeot would like to immediately provide further information regarding hybrid engines with which the SUV will be sold. The new 5008 will initially be offered in a hybrid version with a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 100 kW / 136 hp. in combination with the e-DCS6 dual-clutch transmission, which integrates an electric unit with an output of 21 kW / 29 hp. . Stellantis integrates this device into many models of its brands.
The SUV will also be offered in a plug-in variant, of which, however, only some initial details have been provided. It combines an electric motor with an output of 92 kW/125 hp. with an internal combustion engine with a power of 110 kW/150 hp.
