BMW Group and Tata Technologies they announced an agreement to go to create a joint venture which will create new software and information technology development centers in India. Major operations and development activities will be located in Bangalore and Pune. Instead, Chennai will focus on enterprise IT solutions.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT – STRATEGY FOR THE FUTURE

The new joint venture between the BMW Group and Tata Technologies will use skills acquired in digital engineering by an Indian company to contribute to the global expansion of the German manufacturer. In particular, he will focus on developing strategic software, including solutions for i software defined vehicle (SDV)). Therefore, he will work on the development of autonomous driving, platforms for infotainment systems and digital services.

However, regarding IT solutions for the corporate sector, the work will focus on digitalization and automation of product development, production and sales. The new joint venture will initially employ 100 Tata Technologies professionals. However, the number of employees is expected to increase in the coming years. The establishment of a joint venture is subject to the approval of the competent authorities.
