The AimBot V3 gun was equipped with three cameras, two industrial servos and a chip for tracking objects and shooting.
YouTube channel Extreme Overload has published a video showing off the unusual air gun AimBot V3. The device can track targets thanks to its built-in camera system. Details about the weapon were reported by Hackaday.
The AimBot V3 smart gun is made of metal, epoxy resin cast gears and a chain-driven pan and tilt system. Three cameras were installed on it: a wide-angle camera responsible for detecting targets and a stereo pair, which zooms the image and determines the distance from the target to the shooter using video recording of several hundred frames per second. There is a 15W IR LED on the front of the gun.
Additionally, the weapon is equipped with two industrial servos and a chip for object tracking and shooting. There is no data on the computing power of the chip, but it is known that the gun can fire up to 40 air bullets per second thanks to the Polarstar mechanism. All these components are combined into a rather bulky body.
Important
AimBot V3 automatically tracks your target with motion tracking to distinguish between static and moving objects. The gun can even track darts fired from a toy gun in flight.
The disadvantage of the device is that it only works on targets with reflective strips. The camera detects the bright reflection and uses it to track the target. AimBot V3 may react and fire if a person is wearing something shiny, so you need to be careful with the device.
