To prevent your iPhone from running out of battery: how to keep your smartphone working for days, instructions

You can set your phone to always be in low power mode.

Apple’s Low Power Mode is essential to extend iPhone battery life. Typically, iOS automatically turns off Low Power Mode once the smartphone reaches 80% charge, but users can leave it enabled indefinitely. The how to geek publication talked about how to do this.

How to automate low power mode

You need to first install the Shortcuts application by downloading it from the App Store, then open it and click on the “Automation” button. If this option is not listed, you need to click the “New Automation” button.

Scroll down on the panel that appears and tap “Low Power Mode.” Then select “Disabled” and make sure “Enabled” is not selected. Then disable the “Run immediately” and “Notify at startup” options and click “Next”.

Now you need to define the action that will occur when the automation condition is met: “New blank automation” – “Add action” – “Low power consumption” – “Set low power mode”.

When “Set Low Power Mode” appears, the option will be set to “Enable Low Power Mode” by default. You need to leave it like this and then click “Done”.

Now when Low Power Mode is turned off (by the user or iOS), Low Power Mode will automatically be turned back on. To get started, you need to manually enable low power mode in the settings: “Settings” – “Battery” – “Low power mode”. The iPhone will then remain in low power mode indefinitely.

How to disable Low Power Automation

Since Low Power Mode will continue to turn on automatically, it will not be possible to disable it normally. But there is a way to do this: you need to go to the “Shortcuts” app and click on the “Automation” option at the bottom of the screen. In the list that appears, tap the previously created automation “When power saving mode is turned off.” On the Automation details screen, open the Automation list and select Run. After that click “Done”. This will turn off power saving mode.

If automation is disabled, low power mode can be changed manually as usual. If the user wants to enable automation again, they need to go back to it from “Shortcuts”, go to the “Automation” drop-down list and click “Run now”.
