The Innovation Center of the Ministry of Defense introduces the Mobile Device Management (MDM) technology, which should protect the personal phones of military personnel of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization Ekaterina Chernorenko wrote about this on Facebook.
It is reported that Mobile Device Management will provide access to the military equivalent of the App Store or Play Market. The technology is installed on a smartphone and after checking the device, the military will have access to applications for military needs. In this way, the military’s personal data will remain intact and military data can be deleted remotely.
As Ekaterina Chernogorenko noted, there are currently 68 applications, 14 of which are specifically designed for combat. According to the official, similar methods for increasing the cyber protection of military personnel are also used in the US Army.
“MDM allows you to use your own phones and tablets in service by protecting them, which saves you cost and time in purchasing,” the Ministry of Defense emphasized.
Let us remind you that the Ministry of National Defense is also working to transform the Reserve+ mobile application into an online TTK. Planned features include the introduction of three types of deferments, online recruitment and automatic registration.
In addition, the Ministry of Defense launched the mobile application “Army+” for active military personnel, designed specifically to relieve the military of paperwork by providing the opportunity to submit reports online.
