STALKER 2’s system requirements were not the same as reported: What the developer kept silent about

The developer determined the requirements of the STALKER 2 game with scaling technologies, without warning users about this.

Nvidia tested the system requirements for the STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl game, and it turned out that even a computer with a GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card will not guarantee 60 FPS resolution, as assured by developer GSC Game World. UNIAN writes about this.

A GSC representative in the game’s official Discord community was noted to have said that the system requirements were determined by taking into account upscale and supersampling technologies such as Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR.

“To achieve similar performance at the specified computer specifications, you should use TSR boost technology at minimum settings. To achieve the specified performance at medium, high and epic settings, you should use DLSS, TSR and equivalents,” the message said.

However, scaling technology was not initially mentioned in the announcement.

Fans were disappointed both by the very high requirements and by the fact that the need for scaling technology was not discussed initially. One of the players who accused GSC of lying about system requirements has been banned from the Steam community. However, the company quickly responded via Network X, saying it had unbanned the user blocked by the new moderator.

Minimum requirements for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which is scheduled to be released on November 20, include AMD Ryzen 5 1600X or Intel Core i5-7600K processor, at least 8 GB of RAM, AMD Radeon RX 580 or GeForce. GTX 1060 video card But this “stuffing” will allow you to play at resolutions up to 720p at up to 30 fps.

Let’s recall that in mid-October, the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World allowed journalists from various Western gaming publications to spend about three hours in the game. After that, the media declared STALKER 2 a candidate for the title of the best game of 2024, based solely on the results of the preview session.

In Russia they will probably go to jail for this game.
