Renato Balestra is an Italian fashion designer, founder of the Balestra brand and company.

He was born in Trieste in 1924. In 1954, Balestra began working in Rome and 4 years later presented its collections in the United States. He opened his first workshop in Rome in 1959. Despite this, the deceased designer worked as an engineer.

The Italian fashion designer has dressed several members of the royal family and a number of movie stars – Gina Lollobrigida, Sophia Loren, Natalie Wood and others.

He is known as the master of the blue and the fashion artist. It was Balestra who created the famous “embroidery painting” technique and dyed all kinds of fabrics.
