Meatballs can be a great alternative when you don’t want to cook and fry meatballs.

Legend has it that meatballs were invented in 1776 by the butcher of the Palatinate Elector Karl Theodor. Only in German, Austrian and Swiss cuisine meatballs are known under the name Leberkäse – literally translated as “cheese from the liver.” For sausages, it is prepared from cooked minced meat, to which liver, tongue and bacon are added. It is still a popular street food in these countries.

Meatball is a hearty dish that is simply prepared from minced meat with the addition of various ingredients. It is perfect for any side dish and keeps well in the refrigerator.

Puff pastry with feta cheese and sweet pepper

Contents:

  • Two stale buns;
  • a light bulb;
  • a bunch of parsley;
  • One red and one yellow pepper each;
  • Feta cheese – 200 g;
  • sesame – 30 g (you can do without it);
  • Minced meat – 750 g;
  • Two eggs;
  • Mustard – 1 tbsp. l.
  • Salt, pepper.

Soak stale buns in water (you can use any white stale bread). Peel the onion and chop finely. Finely chop the parsley and cut the pepper into strips. Cut the feta into thin slices. Roast the sesame seeds in a pan without oil.

Mix the ground beef, egg, chopped onion, mustard, parsley and squeezed bread. Pepper and salt. You can bake the meatballs both in a tall cake tin or on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Spread one third of the minced meat, arrange the yellow pepper slices, put the feta cheese slices on it, cover the other third of the minced meat and place the red pepper slices. Put the rest of the ground beef and give the patty a loaf shape. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and put in the oven preheated to 180 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
