Singer Grimes is one of many who think the Grammy ceremony “doesn’t matter”.
British singer Charlie XCX, 30, shared a photo on his Instagram that he was upset about not being nominated for a Grammy this year. In the post, Charlie sarcastically suggested that he should pay the Recording Academy to participate in the selection of applicants.
“People don’t want to see hot, angry girls succeed,” Charlie wrote.
Elon Musk’s ex-wife and mother of son X Æ A-12 (Ex Ash Hey-Twelv) couldn’t help commenting. The singer, who has never been nominated for a Grammy, said the awards ceremony didn’t make any sense.
“The Grammys are so out of place I don’t care. In any capacity I’ve even stopped following them. When I was on the board of producers of the year and they didn’t let me nominate someone who wasn’t quite right. “I’m not on a pre-made list which is extremely boring,” he continued. I was one of three women and definitely the only one under 40. This is not the real thing. I tried to nominate Sophie, but they told me it was forbidden.”
Of course, Grimes isn’t the first artist to scold the Recording Academy and its supposedly dubious nomination practices. No longer presenting his music to the Grammys, The Weeknd tweeted in 2020: “The Grammys continue to degenerate. You owe it to me, my fans, and industry transparency…”
Focus also wrote that in December last year, Elon Musk showed off an adult son with singer Grimes.
