The last film of Vadim Abdrashitov, which was released in 2003, was “Magnetic Storms”. He said in an interview that he didn’t shoot “because there was no money”.

Also in an interview in 2018, Vadim Abdrashitov pointed out that historical reality in modern Russian films is “distorted”.
