James Middleton, the 36-year-old younger brother of the Princess of Wales, and his wife, Alize Thevenet, announced that they are expecting their first child. The future father wrote about this on his page on the social network and posted a round-bellied photo of his beloved Mabel with his dog.
“We couldn’t be more excited… Well, maybe Mabel. We’ve had a very rough start to the year since we lost our beloved Ella, but we will end the year with the most precious member of our growing family,” the caption writes.
The boy will be the seventh grandchild of his parents, James, Carol and Michael Middleton. They are already the grandparents of Kate and William’s children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, and Pippa and her husband James Matthews’ children Arthur, Grace and Rose.

James and French financial analyst Alize got married on September 11, 2021 in Bormes-les-Mimosas (France). The bride wore a 1980s Bardo style wedding dress that belonged to her mother-in-law, Carol.
James’ parents and two sisters attended the celebration, along with their husbands and children. Ella and Mabel’s beloved dog was the flower girl at the wedding.
In an interview, Middleton admitted that he owed it to Ella meeting his wife at Chelsea’s South Kensington club in 2018.
“Ella was lying under the table at my feet. When I realized she might need water, I trusted her to go from the terrace to the bowl of water. But she ran over to Alize. I was a little embarrassed, I went upstairs to apologize and came back. Ella. But Alize thought I was the waitress and told her ordered a drink, continued to caress Ella while she was lying on her back, enjoying the attention. The dog passed away in January 2023, which was a heavy loss for the couple. James still remembers Ella in his poignant posts dedicated to her.
