Cookbook author Martha Stewart criticized for her iceberg ice drink

The businesswoman sparked outrage when she posted a photo from a cruise in Greenland.

Martha Stewart, a businesswoman and author of popular cookbooks, has been criticized for drinking iceberg ice. Robb Report writes about it.

Stewart shared some footage from her Greenland trip, writing: “End of the first zodiac trip from @Swanhelleniccruises to a beautiful fjord on the east coast of Greenland. We actually grabbed a small iceberg for our cocktails tonight.”

This caption accompanied a photo of Martha Stewart with a cocktail and a photo of the smallest iceberg standing on top of a car.

But while commentators were outraged by the photo and the senseless use of glacial ice, Greenland has been hit hard by the climate crisis.

“Martha, the ice is melting, don’t add it to your drink,” wrote one commenter.

Another wrote: “I generally like Martha and the excesses in her life because she loves beautiful gardens and houses and food, but wealthy white people drinking iceberg cocktails while the planet burns are a bit deaf to what’s going on.”

However, other Instagram users also came to Stewart’s defense.

“So if he doesn’t use part of the iceberg, can he keep it from melting? It’s doubtful,” someone wrote. Another wrote, “It’s a floating piece of ice. There’s nothing wrong with doing it. There are so many drama queens in the comments.”

Martha herself did not respond to the criticism, but one of her vacationing friends, Brian Kelly, founder of Points Guy, wrote a few lines about the climate crisis and marveled at the beauty of glaciers and icebergs.

“The size of the glaciers is astonishing and frankly it’s hard to fully understand. Greenland has been particularly hit by global warming, but its beauty should not be underestimated,” he said.

Recall that Martha Stewart became famous in the early 1980s when she published several recipe books that quickly became bestsellers.

In 1990, Stewart became editor-in-chief of the new food magazine Martha Stewart Living, which reached two million copies in 2002. And three years later she started hosting her own show.

In 1997, Stewart founded Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, a media conglomerate that controls print, TV shows, radio stations and websites.

However, he was sentenced to five months in prison after it was proven that he used inside information about stock prices in the stock market illegally in the 2000s.

Let us remind you that before, designer Stella McCartney was criticized for using horses in an advertising campaign she and Kendall Jenner did. Commentators concluded that animals were tortured during filming.
