Eton Mess or Eton Mess is a surprisingly delicious dessert made with fresh berries and meringue.
If you want to try something very English but also sweet and sophisticated, try the Eton mess. It is believed that this dessert was invented after a cricket match in 1893.
Crispy meringue, whipped cream, and strawberry sauce are the best combinations to serve outdoors. Most often the dessert is prepared with strawberries, but other fresh fruits can also be used. The recipe was shared on the BBC website.
Eton mess
Contents:
- 2 large egg whites;
- 120 g powdered sugar;
- 500 g strawberries, peeled and coarsely chopped;
- 450 ml cream;
- 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar.
Turn on the oven to preheat to 100°C. Beat cold egg whites with salt on high speed until stiff peaks form. Without stopping beating, gradually add sugar to the whites, one tablespoon at a time.
The result should be a smooth, dense and stable mass.
Place the whipped egg whites on a baking tray lined with baking paper and prepare the meringue.
This will take about an hour. Then turn off the oven and leave the meringue inside until it cools completely.
To make strawberry sauce, blend 1/3 of the strawberries. In a large bowl, beat the cream and powdered sugar until it holds its shape. Mash the meringue thoroughly, add the chopped strawberries, stir and then add the strawberry sauce. Divide among plates, then crush the remaining meringue and sprinkle pieces on top. Spread whipped cream on top and decorate with strawberry slices and mint leaves.
You can also prepare a simple and delicious delicacy: “sweet sucuk” dessert.
