Drunken invaders, accompanied by a commander, took two Ukrainian women from their homes at night because “the children just wanted to have fun.” They shot and killed the husband of one of the women while he was trying to fight with his wife.
The Clooney Justice Foundation, founded by American actor George Clooney and his wife Amal Clooney, filed a lawsuit against the Russian army. BILD publication writes about this.
On June 1, a lawsuit was filed with the Austrian Federal Prosecutor’s Office requesting an investigation into sexual violence and murder committed by Russian troops in Ukraine.
The case is based on evidence against the invaders who seized a settlement in the Kiev region and raped two Ukrainian women there in the early days of the large-scale Russian occupation.
The case is directed at the direct perpetrators of the crime, as well as seven mid- and senior-level commanders identified as suspects.
So the drunken invaders, accompanied by a commander, took two Ukrainian women from their homes at night because “the children just want to have fun.” They shot and killed the husband of one of the women while he was trying to fight with his wife.
According to the lawsuit, both women managed to escape and return to their homes after being raped repeatedly. A few weeks later the village was liberated by Ukrainian troops. One of the women stayed there, the other went to Austria.
Austrian non-profit organisation CEHRI has conducted a detailed legal analysis showing that Austria has the authority to investigate these crimes as war crimes and crimes against humanity and to try them in Austrian courts.
“The crimes were committed as part of a widespread and systematic pattern of human rights violations against civilians in the occupied territories by Russian forces, which has been extensively documented by UN bodies and other organizations,” the CFJ Foundation said in a statement.
The case includes detailed evidence collected during on-site investigations in Ukraine, as well as a comprehensive analysis of open-source data used to gather information on individual criminals, command structures and other evidence.
“This case is, first and foremost, a testament to the incredible courage of two Ukrainian women who decided to raise their voices and seek justice,” says Anya Neistat, legal director of the European Court of Justice initiative Docket.
CEHRI calls on the Austrian authorities to open a criminal investigation and issue international arrest warrants against the suspects.
Let us recall that on May 7 in the Luhansk region, it was revealed that the invaders brutally treated a 17-year-old girl. A Russian soldier raped a girl in a car, then decided to kill her, fearing to be caught. He buried the body of 17-year-old Anastasia and surrounded it with stones.
