Of the 27 EU countries, only two did not support the initiative to reduce gas consumption – these are Hungary and Poland. This is reported “RIA News” with reference to the document of the Council of the EU.
It says that “all delegations voted in favor of the Council’s regulation on coordinated measures to reduce demand for gas, with the exception of the delegations of Hungary and Poland.”
The document says that the majority necessary for the adoption of the plan has been reached.
Earlier it was reported that the EU approved a plan for “a voluntary reduction in gas demand with a mandatory reduction of 15%.”
