The call by Estonian Prime Minister Kai Kallas not to issue visas to Russians is a violation of the republic’s obligations under international law. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Tallinn Vladimir Lipaev.

“The call of the Prime Minister of Estonia not to issue visas to Russians is a fact of Estonia’s refusal of its own jurisdiction and violation of the republic’s obligations under international law,” – the Russian diplomat emphasized. Recall that on August 9, the Estonian leader said that visiting Europe is a privilege, and also urged to stop issuing visas to Russians to enter European countries.

In addition, the head of the Finnish government, Sanna Marin, proposed limiting tourism to Russians. According to her, the fact that Russians can come to Europe as tourists while a special operation is underway to protect Donbass is wrong.

The Russian Foreign Ministry responded to Finland’s statements, saying that if the country stops issuing visas to Russians, this would be a discriminatory measure. According to the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, this is not the first time such discriminatory calls have been heard in a state that claims a leading role in international cooperation in the field of human rights and freedoms.
