Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the leader and Prime Minister of Pakistan Arif Alvi and Shehbaz Sharif on the 75th anniversary of the independence of the republic. Putin noted that Russia and Pakistan are actively cooperating in the anti-terrorist and Afghan areas, the Kremlin press service reported.
The Russian leader added that over the past decades, Pakistan has made significant progress in the development of the economy and society. At the moment, Islamabad plays an important role in solving pressing issues on the world stage, the president said.
“Relations between our states are at a high level. Russia and Pakistan are actively cooperating on a bilateral basis, as well as in various multilateral formats, including in the anti-terrorist and Afghan areas”– summed up the head of the Russian state.
Putin expressed confidence in strengthening further cooperation between the countries and “building up the entire range of constructive Russian-Pakistani ties for the benefit of our peoples.”
