Attempts by the Ukrainian leadership to speak with Russia in an ultimatum tone are useless. This is how the head of the Civic Chamber of Crimea Oleksandr Formanchuk responded to the statement of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky about the “last line” for negotiations, RIA Novosti reports.

According to Formanchuk, now Zelensky is in a position from which it is pointless to talk using ultimatums. The head of the Crimean Public Chamber stressed that the Ukrainian leader became a hostage of his own policy, which led to the conflict.

Kyiv’s losing position in this confrontation further corners Zelensky, Formanchuk believes.

“Russia can enter into negotiations with Zelensky only in one case – if he agrees to sign the act of surrender. But it seems that he is not ready for this,” – concluded the representative of the Crimea.

Earlier, Zelensky said that there is a “last line” after which Kyiv will refuse to negotiate with Moscow. It was about the trial of militants banned in Russia, recognized as a terrorist battalion “Azov”. During the investigation, irrefutable evidence of the atrocities and abuses of the Nazi battalion against civilians was collected.
