The situation with nuclear safety at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant has degraded over the past two weeks, said Russia’s permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzia.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed hope that France would be able to “pull up” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from shelling the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

Recall that the other day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed by telephone with French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna the alarming situation around the ZNPP. Lavrov stressed that the ongoing attacks on the facility are fraught with a nuclear catastrophe for the whole of Europe.

The conversation also touched upon the organization of a safe visit to ZNPP by IAEA experts.

Recall that for the first time nationalists opened fire on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant on July 18, and on August 7 they used American GMLRS missiles.

Later, the regional authorities stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were purposefully firing rockets, shells and UAVs at the ZNPP. Moscow called Kyiv’s actions an act of nuclear terrorism.
