In European countries, gas continues to rise in price. At the opening of trading on August 24, the price of fuel futures became close to $2,800 per thousand cubic meters.
Such data was published on Wednesday morning by the London Stock Exchange ICE. The nearest futures (according to the index of the largest European hub TTF) opened trading at the level of 2795.6 dollars.
As of 09:12 Moscow time, the cost has grown by 3%. It amounted to 2836.7 dollars per thousand cubic meters.
Note that the dynamics of quotations is given from the estimated value of the previous day – 2754.1 dollars.
Recall that the day before, the settlement price of gas in Europe broke an absolute record. It reached the level of 2861.6 dollars per thousand cubic meters.
Earlier, Helen Thompson, a professor of political economy at the University of Cambridge, said that the West will face an “energy retribution” this winter for the lack of gas from the Russian Federation.
