Germany is facing an absolute shortage of weapons stockpiles, said German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock.

According to her, because of this, the supply of German weapons to Ukraine goes “on a fine line.”

“Unfortunately, the situation is such that we are experiencing an absolute shortage of our own reserves,” Burbock said in an interview with the TV channel ZDF.

She stressed that it is best for Ukraine to receive weapons “yesterday, not today,” but Germany should also plan “in the medium term.” Burbock added that due to problems with weapons in Germany, it was necessary to specially organize production for Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that Washington allocated $ 3 billion for military assistance to Ukraine. Deliveries of weapons within the framework of the next package will begin in the coming months.

Recall that earlier Russia sent a note to NATO countries in connection with the supply of weapons to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo containing weapons for Kyiv would become a legitimate target for Moscow.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that the NATO countries are “playing with fire” by pumping weapons to Ukraine. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov noted that these actions do not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will only have a negative effect.
