Residents of Zaporozhye invited the IAEA delegation to come to ZNPP

Residents of the Zaporizhzhia region in a letter addressed the leadership of the IAEA with an invitation to visit the Zaporozhye NPP.

According to Alexander Volga, head of Energodar’s CAA, local residents turned to the city administration and asked them to convey a message to the IAEA leadership.

“We invite the IAEA delegation to inspect the operation of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, study the security measures taken and record the criminal actions of the Ukrainian authorities”the residents said in a statement.

The head of the CAA also said that, after the emergency situation on August 25, power supply was restored, the accident was eliminated. He stressed that all the ZNPP reactors are working, and the rumors about the shutdown of one of them are a Ukrainian fake.

On August 25, security systems went off at the Zaporozhye NPP after a power outage in the region, Yevhen Balitsky, a member of the Energodar CAA, said.

“As a result of the massive shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which continued from last night, there was a massive fire of the field and undergrowth. This led to a short circuit in the network. The indicators of the power system completely subsided”the message says.

Due to the failure, the security systems went off. Experts have reconnected.
