Mishustin urged to gradually increase the share of payments in rubles

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin spoke about the importance of increasing the share of international payments in rubles. He said this during a strategic session in the direction of “Development of the domestic financial system.”

Mishustin noted that it is necessary to continue increasing the share of international payments in rubles, with the refusal to use the currencies of unfriendly states.

At the same time, according to the Prime Minister, this must be done gradually.

Among other priority tasks, the head of the Russian government named the creation of incentives for investing free funds in the country’s economy and the development of modern reliable investment mechanisms.

Earlier it was reported that the international reserve currency based on the basket of currencies of the BRICS countries could become a replacement for the dollar. This opinion was expressed by the head of the department of global research “Opening Investments” Mikhail Shulgin.

According to him, Russia and other BRICS participants should first of all reduce their dependence on the US currency in mutual trade and external debt servicing.
