Angola could send its first cosmonaut into space if Russia provided support and assistance in this. Told about it RIA News Angolan Communications Minister Mario Oliveira.

According to him, it is too early to talk about a specific date, but such a development of events is “quite possible.”

“Yes, it is possible. There are a large number of young people in Angola who are educated in this field,” Oliveira said.

The Minister added that Angola has also embarked on the path of exploration and development of outer space.

On October 14, Oliveira will be present at the launch of the Angosat-2 satellite, built in Russia for Angola, from Baikonur.

At the end of August, it was reported that Angola allowed accession to the Russian payment system “Mir” and the use of cards on its territory. In addition, the Angolan authorities also allow a gradual transition to mutual settlements in national currencies with Russia.
