In the south-east of the Czech Republic, an unscheduled disconnection from the network of the second power unit of the Dukovany nuclear power plant occurred. This was announced by the press secretary of the station Jiri Bezdek.
According to him, on October 15, electricians discovered “non-standard parameters when measuring one of the auxiliary systems.” The failure of the main shut-off valve is indicated as the reason for shutting down the unit.
“The duration of the repair work will be determined after the unit has cooled down and the control of the specified equipment has been carried out”, Bezdek noted.
He specified that the first and fourth power units of the station continue to work. The third power unit is now undergoing a scheduled shutdown for fuel replacement.
Previously REN TV wrote that in Belgium there was an unplanned shutdown of one of the Tihange 3 reactors at the country’s most powerful nuclear power plant.
