According to preliminary estimates, the turnout in the presidential elections in Kazakhstan was 69.43%. In total, more than eight million voters took part in the voting.

Presidential elections were held in Kazakhstan on November 20. Polling stations in settlements closed at 20:00 local time (17:00 Moscow time).

“In total, 8,299,501 voters received ballots, which is 69.43% of the number included in the voting lists“, – said the deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic Konstantin Petrov.

According to him, most voters voted in the Zhetysu region – 81.42% of voters came to the polls there. The residents of Alma-Ata voted least of all – only 28.72% of the list got votes there.

These results fully coincided with the expectations of the deputy of the Mazhilis of Kazakhstan of the VII convocation Aidos Sarym. He said that agricultural and industrial regions will vote more actively, and megacities will show the least results.
