Claudio Descalzi, chief executive officer of the Italian energy company Eni, announced that the company will be able to find a replacement by 2025. The agency writes ANSA.

According to Descalzi, Eni started looking for alternative energy back in February. The company addressed the countries of Africa, the USA and also the Middle and Far East. However, the manager did not talk about the agreements reached.

At the moment, the gas company has been able to replace up to 50 percent of Russian raw materials. It is noteworthy that the total figure for deliveries from Russia varies from 21 to 23 billion cubic meters.

But Descalzi noted that 2023 will be quite difficult for Eni, as Italy will continue to need 7 percent of Russian gas.

In his opinion, Italy should increase storage facilities by 7 billion cubic meters in order to ensure the country’s energy security.

Recall that in October Eni announced the resumption of gas supplies from Russia.
