With too much military aid to Ukraine, the United States nearly ran out of weapons itself. An American magazine wrote about it National Reviewreferring to Greg Hayes, CEO of the US military-industrial complex Raytheon.
According to him, Washington spent a large amount of weapons already in the first months of the conflict. The United States was left without stockpiles of Stinger and Javelin MANPADS designed for several years.
“The problem is that a lot of supplies were used up in the first months of the conflict. We used up 13 years of Stinger production and 5 years of Javelin production.”Hayes noted.
The expert stressed that replenishment of reserves would be very expensive for Washington. This is due to the fact that the Pentagon has not purchased MANPADS since 2004.
Jimmy Quinn, a journalist for the publication, also indicated that in total, the States sent 5,500 Javelins and 1,400 Stingers to the Kyiv authorities.
To replenish the American gun, Raytheon won a $624 million tender.
Recall that a few days ago, Buchanan, the author of The American Conservative, told why the United States could stop supplying weapons to Ukraine.
