The International Football Federation (FIFA) has decided to fine the Football Union of Serbia (FSS) for the fact that the national team during the World Cup in Qatar placed the flag of Serbia with Kosovo in the locker room. It is reported by the Associated Press.

The incident occurred before the game of the first round of the group stage of the World Cup between the teams of Serbia and Brazil. The meeting ended with the victory of Brazil with a score of 0:2. The flag also bore the words “There will be no surrender.” The Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK) filed a complaint with FIFA after the incident.

The FSS was fined 20,000 Swiss francs.

In addition, FIFA fined the Croatian Football Union (HNS) and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF). Thus, Croatian fans of the national team came out with a provocative banner during the World Cup group stage match against Canadians (4:1). The poster read “Knin 95: no one runs as fast as Boryan”. The family of ethnic Serb Milan Borjan, who was the goalkeeper of the Canadian national team, fled Knin, the capital of the self-proclaimed republic of Serbian Krajina, after the introduction of Croatian troops there in 1995.

SAFF was fined for a large number of yellow cards in the matches of the national team against Argentina and Mexico.

Earlier, FIFA refused to punish the Cameroonian Gael Ondua for the Russian flag on his boots.
