Hungary should be prepared for serious attacks from the European Union, as Brussels and its “liberal propaganda machine” use all possible forms of blackmail against Budapest. The corresponding statement was made by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.
“Now there is practically no such type of blackmail that Brussels would not resort to in relation to Hungary. We were always attacked, attacked violently, but in the end it always turned out that we were right.“, – RIA Novosti quotes him.
Szijjártó stressed that Budapest needed to prepare for future attacks. He noted that the liberal propaganda machine would not choose the means to attack Hungary.
In particular, we are talking about monetary and political blackmail, as well as the spread of fakes.
The minister added that Hungary has traditionally not followed the EU for the past 12 years. So, the Hungarians installed a fence on the southern border to prevent migrants from entering the country. Budapest also bought COVID vaccines from Russia and China rather than waiting for Western-made drugs.
Now Hungary is in favor of a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, which the European Union strongly dislikes.
Szijjártó concluded that Budapest was trying to avoid a recession while Europe grappled with an energy crisis of unprecedented proportions.
Earlier it was reported that Hungary during the meeting of the permanent representatives of the European Union opposed the new package of anti-Russian sanctions.
In addition, Hungary spoke out against the proposal to increase the volume of the EU fund for the provision of weapons to Ukraine.
