Previously detained because of LGBT symbols, the journalist died at the World Cup in Qatar

American CBS Sports journalist Grant Wahl has died at the World Cup in Qatar just two weeks after he was detained before the match because of an LGBT T-shirt. The reporter was 48 years old reported at TMZ Sports.

Valya’s brother Eric believes that the reporter’s death is related to the earlier scandal, because after that he began to receive threats.

“I don’t believe my brother just died. I believe he was killed”– said the brother of the journalist, adding that he had no health problems.

The wife of the journalist noted that the husband lost consciousness right at the stadium. They tried to give him artificial respiration, and later they took him to the hospital, but he died.

On November 21, Val was at the center of a controversy over a rainbow T-shirt. Then he was detained before the US-Wales match at the Ahmed bin Ali stadium in Ryan. The guards, according to the journalist, demanded that he take off his T-shirt. When he wrote about the incident on Twitter, his phone was knocked out of his hands.

The guards then said that the man’s T-shirt was “politicized”. Later, the media figure was allowed into the stadium, and a FIFA representative apologized to him for the incident.
