Europe mistakenly believed that after the imposition of sanctions, Russia would weaken, but the Europeans themselves suffered first of all. The corresponding statement was made by former Vice-Chancellor of Austria Heinz-Christian Strache at a rally in Vienna.

According to him, a positive trade balance has been registered in Russia now. And Moscow’s income from energy trade has grown from $100 billion to $220 billion in 2022, RIA Novosti reports.

There is no question of “bringing Russia to its knees”“, stressed Strache.

He noted that in Austria, after the introduction of restrictions, prices for electricity, gas and food products have increased.

Strache suggested that due to such social injustice, social tension could grow in the country.

Earlier it was reported that hundreds of people took to the rally in Vienna demanding a review by the Austrian authorities of the policy regarding anti-Russian sanctions.
