On December 10, a US Air Force B-2 Spirit strategic bomber caught fire at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri after an emergency landing. This became known a few days later thanks to an Internet resource about the American Armed Forces.

According to the publication, the plane was damaged already on the ground. Prior to that, he was in a planned flight. The pilot was forced to make an emergency landing due to a technical problem.

“A US Air Force B-2 Spirit encountered a technical problem during a scheduled flight on Dec. 10 and sustained damage on the Whiteman AFB runway after successfully making an emergency landing,” – writes military.com referring to an American soldier.

There were no casualties, and there were no casualties either. The fire was extinguished by a special crew, which is on duty at the airbase.

Recall that the B-2 Spirit has been in the air since 1989. Since 2000, aircraft of this series have not been produced. At the beginning of December 2022, a new generation of this bomber, the B-21 Raider, was presented. The prototype is planned to be lifted into the sky next year. Now 6 copies are at different stages of construction.
