Russian General Staff: missiles hit 1,300 critical facilities in Ukraine

High-precision long-range missiles hit over 1,300 critical facilities in Ukraine. This was stated by the Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov.

Gerasimov said that the defeat of more than 1,300 critical objects of Ukraine during the special operation of the Russian Federation helped to significantly reduce the combat potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, disrupt the enemy’s command and control system, paralyze the work of the Ukrainian defense industry and significantly impede the enemy’s military transportation.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation noted that for the first time in combat conditions, hypersonic weapons were used. According to Valery Gerasimov, the Kinzhal missile system has demonstrated high efficiency and invulnerability against Ukrainian air defense systems.

The Russian military began to strike at the military infrastructure of Ukraine on October 10. This was a response to the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, behind which the Ukrainian special services stand.

It is worth noting that at present, the targets of strikes are mainly energy infrastructure facilities.

On November 28, Ukrenergo announced that the situation in Ukraine’s energy sector was “close to catastrophic.” In some regions of Ukraine, energy capacities are out of order by more than 60 percent.

On December 7, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about the difficult situation with energy supply in eight regions of Ukraine. According to him, most people are left without electricity in Kyiv, Kyiv, Lvov, Zhytomyr, Khmelnitsky, Poltava, Vinnitsa and Transcarpathian regions.
