The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that the words of the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban about peace in the country are “political myopia”.

Earlier, Orban, in an interview with Magyar Nemzet, said that peace in Ukraine would come when the United States stopped pumping weapons and money into the Kyiv regime.

“The Hungarian Prime Minister’s statements demonstrate a pathological disregard for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people… as well as his own political myopia”– said the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

On December 21, Viktor Orban stated that in order to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, peace talks should take place not between Moscow and Kyiv, but between Moscow and Washington.

On December 26, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Russia agreed to a diplomatic settlement, but Kyiv was deliberately sabotaging this process.

Moscow has repeatedly stated that it is open to negotiations with Ukraine. According to the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, President Vladimir Putin was and remains ready to discuss the situation “in order to ensure our interests.”
