Former NATO general Hans-Lothar Domrese predicted that Russia and Ukraine would conclude a peace agreement within 2023. His words are quoted by the Berliner Zietung.

“Within 2023 we will have a truce,” – he said.

At the same time, the former NATO general said that the “dead end” in the Ukrainian conflict would come in the summer.

According to him, a mediator is needed in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. He noted that UN Secretary General António Guterres, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan or Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi could play this role.

Recall that Russia has repeatedly stated that it is ready for negotiations with Ukraine. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov. He emphasized that the American curators of the Kyiv regime are hindering the establishment of a dialogue between the countries. The Kremlin spokesman drew attention to the fact that Ukraine itself does not show “political will” and does not enter into negotiations with Moscow.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also spoke about the readiness to solve problems at the negotiating table. At the briefings of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the official representative of the department, Maria Zakharova, repeatedly emphasized that it was the Kyiv side that stalled the peaceful settlement.
