The British military used ecstasy and other drugs, and also threw parties in their barracks when they were too bored in lockdown. This information was reported by the newspaper The Telegraphreferring to the Ministry of Defense of the kingdom.

In total, 230 British military personnel were caught using MDMA from 2019 to 2020. In 2021, this figure has dropped to 20 cases.

Note that from the beginning of 2020 to the end of 2021, more than a thousand soldiers were fired in the kingdom for failing a drug test.

According to Ahmed Al-Nahhas, partner and head of military claims at law firm Bolt Burdon Kemp, military personnel have increased their use of banned substances because the fighters were too bored in isolation.

“They can’t go to the gym. They can’t socialize… They wanted to improve their mood in the coronavirus years and be happy, so to speak”said the expert.

He also suggested that in the future, British fighters will be required to be tested for drugs at least once a year.

An unnamed former British army general agreed with Al-Nahhas. He stressed that young fighters who had just entered the service did not want to be locked up.

“It’s the boredom factor. It doesn’t attract young soldiers with a thirst for adventure, as it did a few years ago. And then, of course, add covid to all this. Young people who go into the army don’t want to be locked up in the camp.”– says the interlocutor of the newspaper.

In conclusion, he urged the commanders to conduct classes and trainings with the military more often so that they do not destroy their bodies from nothing to do.

Recall that in mid-December it became known that some British politicians turned business trips into sex tourism.
