COVID-19 wave in China: the dead do not have time to be cremated, the system is paralyzed (video)

According to unconfirmed reports, people had to cremate the body of a deceased relative in the courtyard of the house due to the overcrowding of crematoriums in China.

Crematoriums in China are unable to cope with the increased workload due to the outbreak of the coronavirus infection. Reported by Bloomberg.

Officials in the Longhua District of Shenzhen city of China said the local crematorium received more than 500 bodies for the cremation over the weekend, which is five times the normal load.

The same situation is observed in other cities. Shanghai residents said an elderly woman’s body remained at home for five days and the hearse came for her.

“We’re lucky the winter is cold,” said a relative.

According to unconfirmed reports, due to the overload of the crematorium, people had to cremate the body of a deceased relative in the courtyard of the house.

The cost of the cremation in Shanghai was reported to have risen to $4,350.

“The whole system was paralyzed,” a local crematorium worker said, adding that people were unable to bear the burden.

A similar pattern is seen in funeral homes in China. But only by looking at the endless queues of grieving relatives and exhausted crematorium workers can one gain a real sense of the consequences of the novel coronavirus outbreak in China. The Xi Jinping administration has only officially confirmed about 10 deaths since restrictions were eased in December.

Recall that Xi Jinping spoke about unity and COVID in his New Year greetings. For the first time, the country’s authorities, under public pressure, eased restrictions in connection with the coronavirus.

Previously Focus It has been reported that a virologist in Germany has said that the coronavirus pandemic in the country is over. According to Christian Drossen, the herd immunity of Germans at the end of winter will be so stable that the virus will not be able to spread en masse.
