Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Asked Parents to Get Tested for COVID your children before they return to school this week.
According to a letter sent to parents, LAUSD encourages students to take a rapid antigen test before returning to class this Monday, and another test in the week of January 16, which coincides with Martin Luther King Jr..
LA USD before the start of the winter holidays, provided students with rapid tests for the COVID antigenmaterials available on all school campuses in the district.
“We will also continue to remind you how to stay healthy this winter season. This includes handwashing, COVID and flu vaccinations, and recommending the use of masks during times of high transmission of respiratory viruses,” the LAUSD letter said.
A school district letter is issued when Los Angeles County Department of Public Health officials recommend that students and school employees wear face masks for the first 10 days after returning to classrooms.and thus try to avoid an increase in the number of daily infections.
“Ten days of wearing masks, when many return to work, to school, can delay the transmission of infection, minimize interruptions to work and study. Protect the most vulnerable and help ensure hospitals are not overwhelmed,” Los Angeles County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said last week.
Estimated after 10 days coronavirus incubation period.
Health authorities request for the use of masks in schools and workplaces after the winter break This is not an order, but a recommendation..
However, Ferrer is hopeful county residents will adhere to the guidelines due to high transmission rates for both COVID and influenza.
